You are the merchant of record
Sell does not hold your money. Payments are built on Stripe Connect direct charges: the charge is made on your own connected account and paid out to your own bank, so the relationship with the payer is yours.
Charges on your account
Your client pays you. The invoice, the statement descriptor and the payout are yours, and so is the obligation, which is the honest version of what a payments feature actually is.
A payment link per invoice
Send an invoice and the payer gets a public page with no account to create. It belongs to your business, not to our marketing site.
Setup
- Open Payments in the workspace and connect your Stripe account.
- Complete Stripe's onboarding: it is their form, and their identity checks.
- Send an invoice; the pay link comes with it.
Limits
- The platform fee is 2% + $0.30 per charge, on top of Stripe's own fees.
- Card collection is still being switched on in this deployment, so talk to us about timing before you plan around it.
- Payouts, disputes and refunds are Stripe's, on your account. We do not sit in the middle of them.
